As a male I don’t usually need to wear a bra … although I confess I did once — just to see what it felt like, okay!
So why then am I writing about what is predominately a ‘female thing’? Well, I want you (males in particular) to discover one of the secrets hidden behind the bra — literally.
But first some history … Officially the modern day version of the bra was trademarked in the United States on November 3, 1914 by Mary Phelps Jacobs for the garment she called a ‘brassiere’. As it happens this item of female attire, a version of it anyway, goes back well before that time, possibly to ancient Greece.

Honour, Sickness, Health, Richer, Poorer... Five simple little words, but packed with important meaning.
Words very carefully arrived at by someone a long time ago as the basic rules for a happy marriage, and how true they have proved to be, especially as we all get older and need to rely more on our partner,

Imagine saying to your new boss in a new country… ‘Come downstairs with me - I am horny’!!!.. Yep. That’s what happened to me in Spain. More about that ‘priceless moment’ soon.
So have you ever wondered what it’s really like living in someone else’s country rather than just being ‘a tourist’? Over the years I’ve been fortunate to have lived and worked in Papua New Guinea (including several remote villages), the USA, UK & Spain (twice!)…

In the 21st century you’d think communicating with others, especially people at work... even family members, would be easy right? There’s email, Facebook, Messenger, text messages and (gasp!) even the phone! What is it that actually stops us communicating as easily as we did back in (say) the 1960's and ’70s, which was about 10 years before the internet was launched? As far as I’m concerned, there is way too much input from everywhere!
I get messages from people I still work with on a daily basis saying: “SOZ 2much BWDTH atm. CKU”

People often ask us... "So how did you two hook up?" - well at the time, little did either of us know that the launch of a brand new radio station in Brisbane would eventually see us becoming a 'couple' !
Both of us had previous commercial radio/TV experience so joining a brand new radio station was a 'no-brainer' albeit pretty exciting! The possibilities and opportunities seemed endless.

In 1956…
Which is a long time ago, I was starting work. I worked at a very exclusive boys College, in Bristol, John Cleese went there, and the boys were from good families, their parents had healthy bank accounts. But it was not ideal for me. In spite of the well- heeled teenagers I dealt with. At sixteen I was inhibited. I hated the job as I felt I didn’t fit.

We read and see an awful lot of information these days about what an awful, ugly place we have the misfortune to live in.
Industrialization is supposed to be choking the world by filling the air with poisonous fumes; despots ruling it would appear, most of the countries of the ‘third world’, are slaughtering many of their own subjects and trying to make life as unpleasant as possible for the rest of us, with their continuous states of war, one against the other, or against us!

'CHICAAA.... CHICAAAA C'mon sweetie!...'
Always amazes me. Call her name at any time of the day and 'whoosh' - like Wonder Woman she's right there by your side. But when it's bath time, suddenly she's overcome with severe hearing loss.
She's probably already in the 'awareness zone' when relaxing outside on the deck, I call her up for a pat then she sees the hairbrushes and combs on the table in front of me.
"Uh ohhh" - You can almost hear her say... But she really is a 'good little girl' and tolerates my less than perfect brushing.

"You've got HOW MANY dogs" !!?? was a question often asked by people when we started talking about pets.
But to be honest having four dogs was really no more difficult than having one... with one exception, Chica, a now 17yr old 'rescue' Toy Poodle we've had for about 8 years at the time of writing. In fact we like to tell people she's more trouble than the other four put together!
More on her in another post soon. So how did we end up with four dogs?

Hey Dad!... Why is that man coming down the road with a long pole over his shoulder? Oh, he’s stopped at the street lamp across the road from our house, - now he’s sticking his pole up through the glass box on the top and … Wow, now the light’s come on! That’s the first time I’ve seen that light come on, - ever. Is that because the war’s just finished Dad, and we don’t have to have black-out any more?

I had a problem!
I had been asked to write something about 'having a problem' and then solving it, but the problem was, I couldn’t think of a problem to solve! I racked my brains for a few days, while I was doing other jobs around the house, helping my wife Jacqui with the washing up, the vacuuming and the lawn mowing, but somehow nothing would come up to the surface of my mind.
